RedElec Technologie SA

Welcome by RedElec Technologie SA

RedElec Technologie SA is a limited company created in June 2007. Our company is a spin-off of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETHZ) which exploits an innovative electrochemical process. This new technology has been developed in this institution and protected by a patent which is the property of RedElec Technology SA.

At this time, our company is managed by Dr. David Crettenand (chemist), supported by the foundation The Ark and the CTI Start-up and is established in the Bioark in Monthey.

RedElec Technologie develop and market a new electrochemical technology allowing to carryout redox transformations (reduction or oxidation) at best economical and environmental cost, directly on the production site. The electrochemical reduction of aqueous suspension of indigo constitutes the first industrial application of the process developed by RedElec Technologie SA. The reduction of the insoluble indigo produces the leuco-indigo which is a soluble species. This transformation is a necessary step in the dyeing process of cotton in the denim industry (fabric used for producing the jean). Our solution makes it possible to produce the dye 'ready for use' directly on the denim production site, therefore directly at the 'point of use'. In comparison with the processes currently used in the denim industry, this solution is more economic and more respectful of the environment.

On mandate of companies of the chemical, pharmaceutical, agrochemical and biotechnological industry, we study the electrochemical alternative for problematic redox transformation step encountered in their production processes and for opening news sythesis paths too. We carry out the optimization of the process on the laboratory level and follow the scale-up up to the industrial level. We develop and provide the industrial production machinery.
